my new years resolution.

jet lag. wide awake at 2:30 in the morning. and i have work tomorrow. the little buggers are unforgiving & there is no way that i can be "tired," because they do not care. add to that fact that they have been off for two weeks, had a sub for three days, and tomorrow is shaping up to be very interesting, very quickly.

i was laying in bed, thinking that i should write a blog. because i had my palm read and was told that i need to. because i enjoy it. because i pretty much only started this to keep in touch with my friends who live far away & THEY blog faithfully, so why shouldn't I? especially when they are the only ones who read this!

George Harrison recorded the song "Something" on his 26th birthday. I know this because I have logged approximately 45 hours of flight time over the past two weeks. this flight time was entirely dedicated to the Beatles. obsessively almost. as I dedicated the first leg of my trip to listening to and reading about "Rolling Stone's 100 Greatest Beatles Songs", and then just listening to all 200+ songs on the return home, I have a new appreciation for the Beatles. especially George, who was quiet, kind, and had to work harder than the other "chaps" to be successful. he also held the Concert for Bangladesh - to raise money for a country that now has a special place in my heart. & HELLO - "Here Comes the Sun" - does this song make anyone else smile?

so my point is, upon reading that George recorded a song on his 26th birthday I started to question MY life. after all, I am 26 too (GROSS - how did i get so old?). one thing that bothers me is that I am a HUGE procrastinator with a lack of initiative. I have been like this my whole life - but the number one contributor these days is FACEBOOK. so this brings me to my new years resolution which includes a couple of things:

1. successfully train for a half marathon
2. write more often.
3. volunteer
4. do at least one fun or interesting thing a week. a legitimate fun thing. "going out" doesn't count.
5. facebook only once a day
6. actually cross things off of the lists i make.

So my last two resolutions here and here have been successful. here's to a year that makes me a happier, healthier, and more driven person.

xoxo
